    SS Zivilabzeichen Pin

Due to the previous thread about these, my interest was sparked in a big way. I looked at the photos available both on here and on the internet and discovered there are three types of stamped Hoffstätter marks. This study does not include the raised mark because they are all identical.

Right moving on we saw the photo below as posted by Jo Rivett. I numbered them at the time as 1,2 and 3

I also found a non numbered pin, however due to the square O we can see that it is a type 1.

The number fonts used on type 1 differ from type 2, and changes again with type 3.

                  Thank you all for looking.

                          Hi David,

Great synopsis and illustrations, I can follow the logic easily. Well done.

                            Many thanks all.

If and when the below pin shows up (and is a Hoffstätter) we will be able to confirm it is an original, by making sure it is a type 2 (five numbers) and by looking at the number font.

                              Hello David,

Thanks for your explanation. I posted some day ago a thread asking an help about my SS zivilabzeichen. Peolpe is divided, 50% they say is original, 50% they say it isn't. By my searching the 1st type of hoffstatters (low numbers) have differents fonts.

Please can you look mine? Your opinion is glad

                              Regards
