    Gpb 75886

This GPB has just been listed on a UK dealers website. What's interesting is not so much the badge itself as the story. I wonder exactly what he did?

Gold Party Badge , small version.

here we have a very nice, low numbered small gold party badge, made by Josef Fuess Munchen!
the condition of the badge is excellent plus ! the fire gilding is in superb new / unworn condition!
Attributed to "Fleischermeister" Ernst Schiller. He joined the NSDAP in August 1925, and was awarded his GPBs on 15.5.1934.
He requested a replacement for his small badge (which he said he lost) in October 1937.
In April 1938 he requested a large and small GPB, which he received.
Ernst Schiller was expelled from the NSDAP in October 1941- and put in jail (1 year later) for 2 and a half years for "Verbrechen der Kriegswirtschaftsordnung." He had to return his GPBs and Party Membership book, which he did on 19. October 1942.
This badge comes complete with a folder of research on its recipient.

    Price: 1150.00 GBP

That's 15886, was recently for sale on e-Stand.

As a butcher, maybe he failed to follow the restrictions that were issued on butchering.

Thanks for that. Sounds like another horsemeat scandal then?

Not sure they ate horses just then, because they were still needed for farming and the military, of course.

More likely a pig that lead a carefree live off of the official records and then was killed to feed its owner and family, but not the fat cats.

Violation of War Economy Ordinances? Probably black market operation. I have a GPB of a low level PL who lost it for a year for making advances on a soldier's wife. He received his punishment after a PL investigation and hearing.

No, that's another I have. Willi Köhler #98085 was a low leverl Orts PL who during an air raid attempted to get a woman whose husband (and party member) was at the front into the basement for hanky-pank. He was brought up before the Kreis Gericht and lost his GPB for three years.

It's just been reduced to £1050. Now there's a thing you don't see every day!

Jo Rivett sold this piece earlier this year. He still offers a photo of both sides of the badge on his website, if anyone would like to view it.

                      Cheers,

                      Br. James

The badge that Reichenberg wrote of was numbered 15886 (Schiller)but he did not mention the number on his original post.Somewhere along the way the number has lost its identity!!!!.Is 15886 Rivetts piece??that he sold! and you mention??This badge (15886)in the UK has in fact just been sold again!!!Would like to see the front?back you mention but cant locate the Rivett pics.Could you provide a link??? Sorry to inconvenience you but I have a friend who is interested in this and don't want to see him not have the correct facts. Many thanks.Seiler

Yes, it was my error. The number is 15886. I saw it listed on a UK dealers website and was curious as to why the holder was expelled from the NSDAP. I did not know it had been discussed here before. As I mentioned the badge has now sold.

                              Hi Seiler,

Jo Rivett's website is "Parteiabzeichen Archive" and is found at http://www.parteiabzeichen.ch/ . He still shows GPB #15886 under 'Ehrenzeichen' -- both surfaces of the badge -- and provides the background bit of info. As to the ID of that NSDAP number, it is confirmed by another source from the period and does not simply rely on Rivett's attribution.
