That is and has been the accepted variant box for an original Gahr and has been based on Cone's example that was published ages ago. On occasion one will pop up overseas with a separate item its fairly rare to find that particular box.

Mine had a red cross stickpin in it and cost me 19.95. No, the red cross pin was not made by Gahr.

It has nothing to do with yours or anyone else' belief.
Unless there is another point to your post that has been lost in its depth.

        cheers

          Matt,

These may or may not be generic but the the fact is they are extremely difficult to find. If these were generic one would expect to see an awful lot more than is actually out there?

As for finding them on ebay, I think we need to put this into perspective. Anything can be found on eBay for a few euros but that doesn't make it cheap, readily available or any less rare. For example, I once found a boxed SS Juleuchter candle on ebay for €24 and those are anything but cheap, readily available or common.

I personally have seen other pins in these cases but again very, very rarely and the manufacturer of those pins are unknown to me.

Any evidence as to whether your pin was issued with the case originally?

No evidence that the pin was issued with the case originally. Any of them.
Speaking of those- what is the going rate for them these days?

            cheers

I regret I did not buy it, as one of these are on

I was asking about the box rather than the pin itself. I think I recall the one you mention- had small enamel chip if memory serves.

                cheers

Auction prices go much much higher and they seems to sell even for those ridiculous high figures. I think the one on Kai Winklers site was 2500 EUR and it is no longer visible on his site.

That's quite a price. What makes its accompanying case a phony?

                        cheers
