    NSDAP 10 Yr. LS

    Hi guys,

My first foray into the Political realm, I picked up this nice NSDAP 10 Year Long Service medal. Its a one-piece strike, made from brass (tombak) and I assume its a relatively early one compared to the more common zinc or Cupal examples. Its unmarked, but with such a nicely detailed eagle design, I wonder if we can connect it to a known maker?

Hope you guys like it as much as I do.

    Thanks

    Tom

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think the maker of this type is one of the unknown examples. I think Thomas Benixden can give you the best possible answer.

      A very fine award.

Looks like a Deumer to me and if its made of Tombak then it probably is a Deumer.

Tom, is the ring soldered closed? Are you sure there isn't a tiny "19" mark on the ring?

                Hi Stan,

Yes, the ring is soldered closed, but there is no number on the ring. It is indeed brass and a bit thinner than its Cupal or Zinc brethren. I'll do some comparing to the Deumer's tonight.

Do you have any good pics of a brass, marked Deumer you can post?

                Thanks Stan.

                  There you go Tom.

I am certain yours is a Deumer and as such IMO the best 10-Yr Cross to have.

The "19" mark is difficult to find and I owned my medal for 20 years before I noticed the mm! Deumer crosses normally have the ring soldered closed.
