In lieu of the Olympic Games of 1920, for which Germany and its allies were not invited, "Deutsche Kampfspiele" ("German Sports Contests") were organized.

It should be mentioned that the event that this pin commemorates was not part of that year's Nurnberg Rally- Reichsparteitag (which ran Sept. 5-10, 1934) but a separate event that was held July 23-29, 1934.
To confuse matters further, the RPT included its own version of Kampfspiele as well.
