Looks like a very nicely made event badge from the heyday of the Stahlhelm Bund.

'Weird looking'? You mean the helmet looks like a fedora?
I like it- looks like solidly put together piece. Ooozes quality, IMO. Fact that it's made out of silver apparently is a cherry on top. There can't be too many of those around. Congrats!

      cheers

Well, I have never seen this tinnie with a pin like this, mine is nickle? with just a standard type pin and does not have such pronounced "scratching" on the petals, just near the very tips of some. I think its either a fake, or a humped up ordinary badge.
Have you tested it to see if it really is silver?
        Regards,
        Pete

Hello Alex, for comparrison below I have posted two examples of this Particualr Badge. As one can see both of my examples of the Badge are missing their pin assembley. The Question is do Ehrenabzeichen Silber versions exist and secondly if they exist is your example an Original Badge.
From my point of view the quality, in particular around the assay mark (835) is lacking. The pin itself looks very poor and the patina is not the type one would expect to see on 825 Silver.
          Regards Martin

I would test it for content Alex.
Some of the so called 'presentation' style tinnies or those made out of silver rather than various alloys were made differently than their 'common' counterparts. By that I don't mean they had a different hardware but there are some that were made using different dies. I believe B.Hritz recently purchased one of such tinnies- while main motif looks exact same, the dept of the pin proves without a doubt it was made on different dies. If the fact yours do not match with 'common' ones of the same is the only thing that speaks against it- you can always offer it to me

                cheers
