    Wow -- those are great badges with a great history.

    I'd sure like to know if the previously mentioned rumors about the badges I posted are true. Probably no way to be 100% certain.

        Herc....i have to agree with Bob...most of these pins you see are the post war produced copies....mike the ones you posted are very nice...great to see...thanks for sharing

          Rumor

          Sorry about my comments regarding the "rumor". I was not there when the fake badges were sold by the European dealer (someone whose last name begins with an "F" perhaps?). Thus, for me it was information passed down through several levels. That's a "rumor" for me but not for someone who was there, as Bob was.

          I appreciate it when we document these things. I am also glad to be able to provide photos of ones that actually came from a man who was actually awarded them. I am delighted to have these in my collection. But I have not added any other ones since.
