Very strange badge. Why that large circular recess on the reverse? Too big to be an attachment guide and it seems quite pointless to go to the trouble of including it onto the die.

That's a very nice 100% original Ges. Gesch marked badge, absolutely no question in my mind. Not very "rare" but in nice condition for an earlier example--- I would say pretty desirable.

that would be a plate/pin guide as you say , there was and could have been larger plates used this could explain it?
