I never had one of these and thought this screw back version was unusual. It is silvered tombak. The detail is OK, but I thought they would be nicer. I appreciate information on the badge. What is interesting is that the threaded nut is soldered directly to the backplate. I cannot tell if factory done or not, but from the marks on the reverse of the backplate, I would think it may have been done post manufacture.

Thank you all for your input. No money to get back as I got it with a small frame of awards I bought at the show. I'll gladly eat this mistake as I only wanted 4 items in the frame.

Again, that you for clearing up my doubts with finality. I thought they should be of better quality.
