Help with buste

A friend bought this last week and is wondering if this is time period?
Any thoughts on value?

It was an award prize from some Heer event or other; the brass plaque originally mounted to the front of the piece, just below the head, is missing; that plaque would probably have provided more information on what this piece was awarded for and when it was awarded. It was cast of white metal and finished with a bronze coating.

The first thing to look at when you are handling these are the attachment to the base, and yours look period and the base also look period aswell as the bust itself.
Not so highly detailed but not all were, posting some pics of one thats been in my collection. Same attachment nut on this one but with a more detailed bust.

IMHO the first bust posted is sculpted to a better degree as are the proportions, but hey its in the eye of the beholder
