Is this a German badge? It came with a large collection of German items I recently inherited. Can anyone tell me what it is and if it is original.

Hi Andy, it is similar to the Dragoon eagle tradition cap badge, but it is not the same, there are many differences. But this makes me think it is German and Imperial in origin.

as Ade says it is definately looks german in origin, and most probally a shoulder board insignia / or imperial traditions badge. Have you tried a post in the Imperial section ????

Most likely your eagle is of Prussian decent note the similarities in these two
