My Day Badge Score!

    My Day Badge Score!

    I got these today and they came out of Vet's cigar box. Had a few other items in there, 2 German cap eagles, 3 US ribbons, Greek occupation medal (Italian), Hindenburg Cross and a piece of jewelery from pre-war Czech.

    Don't know a lot about Day Badges, but was happy to see the Gautreffen Erfurt 1933 and the Gau Tag Gera 1934.

    The key fob is interesting that is has the minng symbol and a connector link is maker marked and Ges. Geschutz. Rhoen Klub is beautiful and maker marked in Frankfurt.

    Colorado, Nice score indeed. Any chance that you could show a close-up front and reverse of the DVG badge.

      Funny you should mention the DVG. As I looked at all this, nothing jumped out as a red flag until I saw the DVG since I always assume nearly all are fakes and I made an offer accordingly. If it is, this one dates back a long time. The owner got it from the vet's family (he's a junk hauler) in the early 80's.

          Nice find. Could we see more details, front & back of the Thüringen badge please.

                    Yes I can see why the DVG waved a red flag not one I would buy on it's own.
                    From what I see of your tinnies in post #8 you nothing to worry about there. Could you post a close up of the one with the three ships? Also post one of the enamel badges with the green border.

                      Sure James - Here you go. I believe the DVG is good, and my understanding is the M9/312 is the right mark. But, not my area though. The Rhoen badge is a beauty!

                      The Rhoen Klub I wonder if that goes with the DVG. Both are France related as far as I know.

                          These two appear to go together as well. Anybody know the origins? The backs have a bright silver finish picked up by the flash.

                              The shield is one of a set of seven that was sold by the WHW to raise money for the winter relief program. The date on the back indicates the years this style of shield was in use there where versions of this set with and without small colored stones set in the round recess.
