    Blood Order secrecy question

From time to time I see Blood Orders come up for sale and/or auction and I sometimes see the Blood Order number blocked out.

Is there a reason, or reasons that sellers sometimes do this?

There's no reason for it as far as I'm concerned.

      The owner:
      1. may not like to let anyone to know the number just in case he cannot sell it this time but cast a bad impression on it.
      2. from the number, sometime you can know who is the present owner. So the present owner may avoid to answer why he decides to sell it now.

I completely agree with you Erich. I don't see the need for all the secrecy.

I guess not really about secrecy but rather privacy? At the end of the day the owner decides how much he wishes to share this info.

Valid points. In addition, the owner may be trying to assemble other items of the recipient and wishes to keep the info under wraps to prevent price gouging.

I think that there are not many around, so when the dealer puts his BO up for sale there is a good chance someone will recognise it and know how much it last sold for.

Thank you all for the replies as I certainly learned something new today. I particularly likes David's sock drawer comment. LOL !

                      That's a good one I haven't thought of before.
