    Tinnie ID request..

    I picked up a lot of misc. III Reich pieces yesterday.
    Tinnies are not a collecting interest of mine, so I'm
    asking for help in identifying them.
    Thank you in advance for your help.

      Thank you Gerdan;
      I appreciate the information.

      I'd appreciate other Tinnie collectors responses.
      Surely someone can ID these tinnies.
      What is their approximate value?

      thank you!

            Hi,

            The tinnie shown at the top of your photograph is a KdF (Kraft Durch Freude - Strength Through Joy) badge.
            This was branch of the DAF (Deutsche Arbeits Front, German Worker's Front) which replaced Free Trade Unions after the Nazis abolished trade unions in 1933.
            Most people in Germany needed to join the DAF in order to work, so millions were raised by the NSDAP from workers dues to the DAF.
            The KdF were an offshoot, organising subsidized holidays, trips, shows, sea cruises and sports events etc for DAF members.
            Your tinnie is a commemorative badge to a particular place, and many were produced in a similar format, showing embroidered representations of the place visited.
            Worth around £10-12 UK Pounds on a good day.

            Best wishes,

            John.
