Opinions Please On 1937 Bakelite Tinnie

I mainly collect WWII US militaria, so this piece is out of my field of knowledge. I was hoping that someone could tell me if this award is an authentic piece or a reproduction? Also, I believe the pin is missing on the back. Can this be easily repaired or should it be left alone? Thanks!

Also came in other colors, and not difficult to repair, but value is relatively low, so may not be worth altering it.

This one is also missing the pin....
