5 years ago, I found a tinnie that a dealer friend had, that I absolutely had to have. This lead to a new area of the hobby for me, and as any die-hard tinnie collector can tell you, it gets addicting very quickly.
Tinnies are a great area of the hobby, imo. There's a lot of variety, most of it's original, and the prices aren't too crazy. "Miniature sculptures", as a collector friend put it.
So, in 5 years' time, this is most of my collection; there's something for everybody. Common, rare, mint, salty....There's even a FAKE in here (Gera 34-01, which was the 2nd tinnie I bought, courtesy of a well-known dealer) - it still has a home in my collection, as a reminder that I'm not above making mistakes.
Most of my collection has come from other collectors, but I have had to buy a few from the big-name dealers. I only do minimal conservation on them, and only to prevent rust, corrosion, zinc pest, etc.
I would like to thank some of the forum members who have shared their knowledge, and insights with me (not to mention some of them have helped me add tinnies, haha).
