    Hello again
this is a small group of items from the collection I have recently inherited. Is it possible to let me know what they are and if they are original. Thanks in advance.

          Andy,
What you have here is an SA sports Badge and its mini stickpin for ware on civilian cloths, The Urkunde that came with it is the Documentation that was presented along with the award. A very nice set to have as it looks to be in almost mint condition. Would it be possible for you to post a picture of the reverse of the badge?

Very nice looking set. May we see the reverse of the badge, is there a number on it?

            Cheers

              Hi Don

Pics attached. Looks to have been some repair work to the catch. Can you tell if this set is original. The book with the picture in it is in near mint condition as it looks to have been kept in the outer cover.
              Regards

Again, I'm afraid that this isn't my area, but from the little I do know about these is that this is the "Third Type" badge issued from 1939. Others will be able to say re authenticity, but you are correct in saying that the pin has been repaired.

The paperwork looks good to me, but I'm not sure if it goes with this model badge as the stamp over the photo looks to be 1933 (the date of the "First Type" badge, which looks the same but has a different inscription on the reverse). I could be wrong though, as I said, not my area. Apart from the date on the page shown, are there any other dates in the paperwork (stamps or handwritten)?

                  Cheers
                  Don

That looks much better, fits in with the 3rd type badge.

If no one has problems with the badge, then I think you've got a matched set. The earlier badges were numbered & I think that the number was written in the booklet, but obviously not in later years.

                          Cheers
                          Don

                            Andy,
Don is correct this is a third issue badge and the numbering of the badges themselves was discontinued during the war but as you can see the number was recored in the book #1816037. A very nice set. Also do you have the case the badge came in? as I see you have the inner tray.
