Lovely piece Ron.
While it is entirely possible the pin was worn by a justice official- it is a event tinnie rather than a badge personifying its wearer. As such it could be given to a law student or anyone else wishing to purchase it during the named event- not necessarily having anything to do with justice apparatus itself.
