    Blood Order medal

    Hello all,

I ask for your opinions on this medal as I simply am not familiar with them in any way. Recipient number 2632 and marked 800 for silver content. From what I believe, close but no cigar. The numbers almost look like they were executed by a laser and I believe I see minor differences in the eagle on correct second pattern pieces. I would sincerely appreciate some help with this, thank you!

really do appreciate your help with this one as I just don't have experience with these. Is there a really good reference book or thread that goes into details about what to look for in these?

Take a look at the putsch/ Feldherrnhalle thread. Many original BOs have been posted on it.

There are several give away hints. One area is to note the position of the ray hits the "O" in DOCH. Compares your one with these 2 genuine ones.
Needless to say your one has overall poor workmanship of the medal itself.

See also the serif on the the letter M in Munchen - - in my opinion these are quite early copies dating from the late fifties/early sixties - - they keep turning up from time to time. Perhaps keep one in your "black museum" for reference purposes.
