Ist Order Blood Order

Hi,

Does anyone know where you can get a list of the winners of the 1st Blood Order medal. Also are these faked to any great extent? I have seen a nice one which was awarded to Herman(n) Teske. He was a member of the Infantry Training School which supported Putsch in 1923.

Any info would be a help.

It used to be that the Blood Order copies were not very close in design to the originals, but I received a scan of a reproduction that was supposedly cast from an original, and it looked very good. I didn't see it in person, but from the digital image it looked like a good one.
The listing of the Blood Order winners was included in the book 'Der Blutorden der NSDAP' by Klaus Patzwall. It's out of print currently but occasionally you can find a copy.

As Erich suggested, check with Albris or another noted used book retailer on the web for this text.

Definitely this award has been copied, as it is a valuable piece; I have been working on an article of this award and just need to get off my arse and finish it... Also, remember that some members of the Party received the BO although they did not meet the original qualification criteria.
