      Hello Wim!

I agree, the DJ is not Good, wanted to double check, it is one of those infamous M1/103 fakes.

But what do you Think about the HJ? I Think it has a chance of being good, I like the enamel.

The M1/102 could be good. But I hate it to give an opinion on HJ/DJ Shooting awards because there are so many good fakes while no one seems to know which models seems to be accepted as originals and which are not.

            Brian,

At the moment I try to get an oversight over all these fake or original HJ/DJ shooting awards. I start with the DJ shooting badge. I collect pictures and do some compare work in an attempt to see some similarities. But it will cost my some time to research this all.

DJ/HJ shooting awards are like a well fillled with snakes. If you post a badge there is almost no one who will give his opinion. This has to come to an end.

Further I hope that Jo Rivett get interested in these nasty buggers and help me out a bit...

            Regards, Wim

Jo Rivett would be the man to ask, his book on The Party Badge is excellent, if I remember correctly the M1/103-fakes are explained in it.

Wouldn't the M1 / 103 in his party badge book pertain to party badge fakes? Looking through it I didn't see anything dealing with any other badge that was not a party badge..

                Cheers

I'm here Brian. I collected some pictures of this maker the last couple of days. Maybe I can say more tomorrow. Personnaly I'm not a fan of the M1/103 badges.

On which page he mentioned the fake M/103 party badge?

Plus a question: do we know that Carl Poellath made enameled party badges? I'm only aware of the plenty M1/103's in painted zinc?

Unsure about the page, still going through that book.

I emailed Jo with pictures of mine just a little bit ago for his thoughts. I don't know if he made enamel party badges. Could it be he got a contract to produce the HJ / DJ items and not party badges and then later was contracted to make the painted party badge?

                            Cheers

                              Hi Brian,

In the mean time I found some enameled Party badges by Carl Poellath. Still diden't made my mind up about the Carl Poellath DJ shooting award. I don't like them very much but I'v' got no single piece of evidence to proof that they are fake or not.
The party badge reverse marking are completely different but that's no proof to say anything usefull.
