    a political stick pin?

Does any one know what this is? I've lurked the boards for a while but have not seen anything exactly like it, except it looks like some other political pins. My father served in the Netherlands and got it from someone there.

Thanks for your scholarship, I'm new here and I enjoy reading these boards.

    could be

It looks similar to a pin illustrated in Insignia, Decorations, and Badges of the Third Reich and Occupied Countries, by R. Kahl, described as for "Fordernde Mitglieder der SS. Black enamel on silver coloured metal. Badge for sympathizers with the SS who contributed to its finances."
The only difference is that the lower letters on your are "BL" and the letters on the illustrated example are "FM."

George: If you look on page 106 of R Kahl's book you will find this pin it is for the supporters of the Germanic SS in the Netherland. An organisation of contributors to the Germaansche-SS in Nederland was formed 1941, the Instituut der Begunstigende Leben der Germaansche SS in Nederland (BL), usually called Begunstigende Leben. The BL was a copy of the german Fördernde Mitglieder (FM) and had 4.000 members in 1944.

              Dutch language

              Hello ,

Would it not be : " Begunstigende Leden " instead of " Begunstigende Leben " => looking at the Dutch language the first one is gramatical correct, the second one is a mixup between Dutch ( Begunstigende ) and German ( Leben ) so this could not have been and this last word also has a other explanation when translated from german into Dutch .

Hoping to be of some help , cordial greetings,
