Golden Party Badges to S A officer

Golden Party Badges 75979 listed on this dealers website. I thought it would be of interest to other members just to see this if only for reference purposes.

I have to say I agree with you on that, but what would be a fair price for this group?

He has had some very nice stuff over the years but insane prices, like a lot
of the "Big" UK dealers. They are not content to make a decent profit they
want the penny and the bun

I don't think he is being greedy with the difficulty of finding matched sets with the Party book. He was awarded the Rohm dagger, which is a tough entry to find. I don't think dealers get much for wholesale prices anymore. I have little doubt the set will find a good home where it is appreciated.

While Bob may be right about the rarity of this group, many of the items on that site are offered for double the prices they go for elsewhere. Of course everyone can ask the prices they want, it's up to us collectors to choose to pay those prices or not. If i see a dealer asking double the price of what similar items cost elsewhere i go there, on the other hand, there aren't much groups like this available and there are also always people who can more easily spent a few k then others who maybe have to save to buy a simple party badge.

It also never hurts to make an offer to a dealer, if you are ready to immediately pay your offer price. Many dealers are happy for a sale if they can still turn a profit or can use the cash for another purchase.

I'm with Bob on this one. I would suggest it's a lovely set and although at the top end of 'value' I would say it's still worth it as it's such a lovely little grouping. Like Bob says the listed price does not always have to be the final price either.

I agree with Jon and Bob. Dealers are essentially running for profit but still it never hurts to make a counter-offer if you ask nicely.
