Just for the information. There is a book in German about Jakob Grimminger, its called "Der Kornett der Blutfahne" by Eric Raden and Arthur Meyer.
In the very end of this book there are tons of pictures of him and also the artifacts that used to belong to him including the mentioned set of GPBs, documents to this set, his wwI medals, Turkish medal, his Blutorden #714, Koburg medal, HSDAP medals for long service, War Merit Cross II, his Ausweis-Karte, SS degen, SS belt, Allach statue of Flag holder, several differnet rings, Hitlers and Grimmingers paintings and so on...
Could someone PM where to look for the Grimmingers auction?

Someone paid too much IMO. For a lack of a better word, the GPBs were unorthodox to say the least.

I had heard that some collectors made friends with Grimminger in the 60s and visited him bringing coffee and tea and due to Grimmingers financial issues they were able to buy many of his personal items. Not sure if this story is 100% true but I wouldn't doubt it. As far as these pieces now hitting the market? You be the judge.

Years ago there was a baroque style Allach candleholder (designer Franz Nagy sen.) with painted dedication to Grimminger on the german market - real in my opinion.

Also interesting to see the Gahr cufflinks which went for 4800 Euros plus fees.

As it is stated on page 95 of the mentioned book the authors examined two pairs of these cufflinks of which one example (= pair) bears the engraved dedication "21.12.39" which indicates that this pair has been given by Himmler to the recipient on occasion of winter solstice 1939.
