These M9 pins are fairly common. I have one too. There's a big thread here somewhere about these and the W Redo versions. Do a quick search and see what you think. I kept mine rather than toss it out. Whoever made this did a nice job and even if it is a fake, it deserves a home. Would never spend much over $40 for one. Yours 'appears' to be exactly like mine withut closer inspection.. Has a genuine, quality feel to it, right?

Thanks for the reply. I did a little more reading and see the RZM M9 controversy. Were any DVG Westmark pins produced with the RZM M1 marking? Was a DVG pin an official NSDAP party pin? Maybe RZM M9 is a correct marking. Looking to the history experts for insight. I'm a newbe easy on the flames.

The M9 prefix was generally reserved for tinnies and day badges, but a few NSDAP party badges and some DVG Westmark were outfitted with such as well as the maker code for Fritz Mannheim in Kaiserslautern (312). They aren't controversial from what I've read, and your pin looks original to me.
