      Jon,
While the enamel work on this badge looks real good. IMO the back lacks a lot from the picture posted both the RZM logo and the M1/66 are poorly done and the lack of a location ring around the attachment pin just sends the wrong signals to me.

James, I agree. Frobler would be very proud of you. I ahve some copys of his site if anybody would need them. Send me a PM and I'll mail them off to you. I have his info on RZM markings and location rings and that sort of thing. I miss him. Is he alive?? Maybe Seba would have his adress or could check on his status. He was great and his site saved me hundreds of dollars. Keep up the good work.............Robert

            Party pin?

Hello guys, yesterday I became from a friend the same pin but with the text:

Adolf Hitler 1933 on the back the text: GES.GESCH.

It was from his grandad , so it is 100% original.
Well I am a Mercedes-Benz buff and I have no idea what it is, the valuy etc.
Is it rare or a Standart pin ?

            Who can help ? Hans

This is one of many propaganda badges from the early days of the NSDAP. This type of badge was mass produced and could be bought by all members or sympathizing members of the public. Most likely the money raised from the sale of these badges went to help finance the NSDAP.

do we have a 66 marked piece in the party pin thread??
if so please post a copy on this thread or let me know and i will.....i hear you about this pin not being legit....though i am definately on the fence with it...all the pins with the gold outer band on the obverse have some non standard features...i am thinking this may account for the problems that you identified and that this may be good...i definately would not consign it to the repop heap just yet....

I would not give up on this one yet either. The front looks very good. There is wide range of reverse configurations on these pins.

Go through the entire pin DB thread (I did not see a 66 in there) and you will see all the different reverses on these.

I can't see someone going to this much trouble to fake a $40 pin by making a beautifully enameled, detailed, and aged front, and then totally screw up the reverse.

Thanks guys for the new input.
This badge is actually Waffen-Mike's, and he's on his way back to the guy he got it from, for a refund!

                      I've sent him a PM

                        Mike,
No there isn't a M1/66 represented in the NSDAP membership badge thread. I just want make something clear no where in my response to Mike's posted badge did I say it wasn't legit or even a repro. What I did say from the picture provided the details of the markings on the reverse sent warning signals to me. That's My Opinion based on the picture provided. We'll just have to wait until someone posts another M1/66 to compare markings.

                            On the side:
                            1) Good enamel
                            2) Round "O"s in words
                            3) Swastika touches inside rim
                            4) RZM logo and M1/66 light but within acceptable range

                            On the side:
                            1) Oval pin plates are usually (but not always) a sign of a repro
                            2) Hyphen on front underneath enamel

I'd say on the balance of probabilities is it is good. The thick edge is typical of earlier badges, but it is RZM'ed with an M number, so it is post-March 1935.

By the way, M1/66 was maker Fritz Kohm, Pforzheim

go ahead and post this in the party pins thread .....i think we should use this for our m66 example for now....agree James?...maybe a better picture if possible.
