P.S. I forgot to ask (none of my business but I just wondered) why the name der bingle? Are you a Bing Crosby fan (your Avatar even looks like him)? I always liked him and his pipes. I even wrote to him to find out what they were and where he got them. I found out that he had some custom made for him by Charing Cross in London. I had some made by a couple of pipe-maker friends of mine with the long thin shanks similar to the style he liked. Sorry for being nosey......just wondering.

I have no idea.....did makers ever do some kind of joint manufacturer deal? I like it too. It is the only one like it that I ever came across. I know there were bound to be many made though......just I never found but one. Actually, I never did just go out looking for tinnies, and didn't collect them; however, they kept showing up so I just threw them in a box. Later, when I started looking at them, I saw there were so many different ones and some where what I considered really good looking designs. I started paying more attention to them when I was looking for other stuff..........still don't have all that many though.

Thanks. I knew he was one of the best ever.....used to listen to him on radio all I could during WW2 and after. He was even better when I could later see him on TV, he seemed to sing with such natural ease and he was also good at comedy as well. I didn't know the other though. He was a good actor too, and I don't think anyone ever did Christmas songs as good as him.
Thanks for your comment about the stuff I kept, but I don't have near as much as I once did and I can't pick it up anymore like I did. The vets are gone in large numbers now......and a lot of the fun went with them. I come from a state and a town with a very small population anyway, and it is not wise to head up some of the places where I used to look for stuff.......in some parts of WV they don't take kindly to strangers showing up looking for things in today's world.
I used to think Bing was singing about WV......."...the blue of the night meets the gold of the day......", our state colors are blue and gold.
Thanks again,
Ron
