Hi Guys! I just got this in a vet grouping today. I believe it came off a sales board as most of the items are marked for Deumer. I'm assuming this is Deumer as well. Piece is really nice.

Not really from a "Salesman's Sample boards".... they were mounted on the boards by factory workers and sometimes "given" and more often "sold" to eager souviner hunting "GIs" (Daumer Factory)...(GIs meaning "Tommies, Ivans, Frenchies, etc. as well as US, but factory was in the US Zone)

I've had two differant "boxed" grouping of German medals and badges....and 3 "salesman's sample boards" which I bought/got directly from the vets and they all told me they got them when they toured the factory "after" the war....as late as 1948 (from the GIs memory...but said he bought his just before coming home... unfortunately only one had a Todt Award, and it had been removed.

Think about the awards on the board.... a salesman wouldn't have such a diverse selection.... nor would the "later, wartime awards" be on a salesman's board...(not in 1944/45).... these are obviously left over factory inventory...

Of course....in collector terminology....they are called "Salesmans Sample Boards"....but that isn't correct, they should be called "Souvenir boards"....
