          Hi Phil,

The leaves of both the outer wreath and the swastika surround look to be too soft, which often indicate a casting from an original badge. I'd let this one pass.

The giant Brunswick rally of October 17/18 1931 was a very important event as the SA sought to shake off the negative effects of the Stennes Revolts, the subsequent resignation of Franz Pfeffer as OSAF, and the return of Ernst Röhm as SA Chief of Staff, and it also provided the opportunity for Viktor Lutze to plainly establish his loyalty to Führer and Party at a time of great internal stress and turmoil. While seen less and less nowadays, this badge was certainly plentiful in its time and honest examples are still available. It's worth it to find a good one; this piece represented a turning point in the life of the SA and in the future of the NSDAP.

          Cheers,

          Br. James

            Hi Greg & Br.James,
            Thanks Guys for your input,
the lack of detail on the wreath and the eagles head prompted me to put it up for discussion,
            Thanks again,

            Regards

            Phil
