DRL and SA sport badges for rewiew

    Hi, Happy New Year!
I would very much like to hear your opinion on these two badges !
I am trying to learn what to look for when buying german awards. These two I have already bought, but I think it is hard to make up an opinion for my self as to the originality. The SA - badge I think looks like it could have been produced just a couple of days ago, and the DRL has got some "bumps" on the back that I am wondering if should be there.
I am greatful for any opinions!
    Have a nice day !

They both look o.k. to me....(SA seems alittle aged) but the DRL more than makes up for that....appears to be a "Gold" which is actually fairly scarce.

Thank you very much, John G. !
It's interesting what you say about the possibility that this is a gold badge. I have earlier tried to figure out wether it is gold or bronze, but didn't come to any conclusion. I think it's difficult when not having references "in hand"...

        Have a nice day!

          Hi Alfonsoer,

based on my experience, the DRL badge is a Bronze version. I cannot see any gilded parts, especially not on the back side.

            Hi Alfonsoer,

Both badges appear to be genuine to me. The DRL piece by Hensler is a rare maker, IMO, and the finish does have a chance at being gold...but in-hand examination may be the only way to determine that. The SA Military Defense Badge by Sieper has had a very hard life...the finish appears to be mostly gone. The badge is a 3rd Issue Bronze Grade, and Sieper is a fairly rare maker. Hope these thoughts are helpful.
