    Seller description:

    A rank insignia for officers of the diplomatic service (lowest level) to come to the auction. Badge is Handgestickt from metallic thread on green felt. Back cardboard.

        That thing is an absolutely horrendous fake, meant to fool some 12 year old kid starting out. Compared to original examples shown in the article "Uniforms for Diplomats & Government Ministerial Officials" by Jill Halcomb, in the 1988 Spring Issue of the Phoenix Exchange magazine, the fake patch shown is terrible.

              I am not able to post pictures on here. I can scan some pictures from the article & email them to you if I had your email. I would think that someone on this forum would be able to post some pictures of originals. There are big differences between originals & that fake you posted.

                Available on the internet on some sites is the reference book: "Uniforms & Insignia of the German Foreign Office/ Government Ministries 1938-1945" by Jill Halcomb. Amazon has some editions.
