Odd pin and catch for a German badge, though.

I agree , the pin and catch is not correct to that badge , it should be marked Lauer due to the right elbow showing . I think you can find some examples of these badges on emedals ...

          Thank you for your comments.
When I saw it for the first time, I was very reluctant with this security pin and catch, but some of these can be found as private purchased items or as special order in some other TR political badges (HJ honor badges, NSDAP Gold Badges...). IMO, there is no doubt about this security sistem was set before 1945, but if you have more info about, please tell me. THis was the reason why I´m posting the pictures in this forum.
Maybe a private addition made by the original owner, or a special and short edition of the badge from Lauer for private purchases and this was the reason why they didn´t mark the reverse? The second option may explain this strange cartoon too. By the way, I´ve tested the white surface with a black light and there aren´t reaction.

Is there any lines in the leafs on the wreath? I can not tell from the photo you submitted . have found several examples but most have a different appearance to the obverse as far as plating . you can find different examples at emedals.com, the collector's guild and several others. Most have the common pin set .

Yes, the lines can be easily be seen. The hardware looks like bronzed zink in my opinion.

IMO the badge looks to be good it is just the pin and catch that I am not familiar with ..it should measure about 31.5 mm x 35mm give or take .

Yes, the measurements are the usual 31x35mm.
By the way: had you seen the cartoon before?

No I have not come across the carton before, all the badges I have came across were with out the case.
