When I first saw this "thing" everything screamed "Fantasy" IMO. I was only confused about the floating swastika. I thought "he, those fakers even used the older floating swastika"

I assume this ultra rare bugger is not in the Hüsken book?

There is a picture in the "Hüsken" Katalog, page 385:
        A33c NSDAP(Hitlerbewegung)

Wim, i would not place too much importance on any item being in, or out, of any of the Hüsken catalogs. There is a lot of rubbish in the Hüsken catalogs, not just fakes, fantasy too. If you are just interested in a basic description of an item, what organization it was for etc, then i guess it`s OK, but as far as market value goes, way off. And as far as authentication goes, dont make the mistake of automatically believing that something is real, just because it makes an appearance in those catalogs.

I got the 2010 edition of the Huesken book recently and was VERY SURPRISED to see quite a few of my own items in there!!!

I'm even planning on contacting him to correct this is in future editions. I assume many of the pictures in there are conveniently "borrowed" from various militaria forums. I have no problem with that, but it would be nice if he'd credit ownership.

Pricewise the catalog is insane, many descriptions are wrong too. It is nice to have a reference with many pictures in one handy format though. If Mr Huesken contacted one or two small badge collectors to go over the book and point out mistakes it could and would be so much better.

Back ontopic: i've never seen the badge that started this topic, but it sure looks great!

            best regards,
            Gaston

Gaston, forget that, i tried, and so did other collectors. This is why, i had no problems mentioning Hüsken and the many mistakes in his catalogs - in my latest book. The only reactions that i ever got out of him when i put him on the spot was, "Oh well, i know of originals" As long as the interaction with him is going positive, all is fine, but from my experience, once you start to question him, you will be met with... silence!

Yes i know about the "other peoples" images, he is not alone though, Ailsby did it in his 2010 book too.
