Your opinions on a Golden HJ Honor Badge?

    Hi all,

Could you guys share your opinions on a Golden HJ Honor Badge? Good or Bad? These are getting so good that I'm becoming very cautious of them. This one was posted on a dealer's website today. Much thanks in advance.

I have several concerns about this badge. This is supposed to be a "B" badge, which are given as duplicates for wear. As such, the "B" replaces the issue number (the B stands for a German word I can't think of right now), so there should not be an issue number on a "B" badge - but there it is.

I also don't like the pin plate, and the RZM number and logo appear stamped in instead of raised.

    In all, I'd stay away.

The gold finish looks quite unnatural. As Stephen stated...stay far away from this one.

I agree! The B designates a replacement badge, so this badge with both number and B would be very suspicious, to say the least.

My Golden Hj (B) marked replacement badge also comes with the private purchase roller-catch and pin assembly. Similar to U.S. pins and roller-catches, but if you notice, the catch housing is longer and larger that the U.S. counterpart.

        Regards,
        Gary

              My opinion..............

That particular style of the Hitler Youth Honor Badge is sort of generic looking. I like the one with the oakleaves around the outside. Since I started collecting this stuff, I have found that reproductions are just as nice and affordable. But I still know a good bit about the orginals. Is there any pictures anywhere of the Honor Badge with the rubies that was given to Balder von Schirach? I'd like to see that one. Ok, so go with the one with the gold leaves pattern around it and that would be a better purchase I think.

The oakleaf version costs somewhere upwards of $5000 (probably more - my numbers are out of date) and there were only some 300+ awarded, so it would be a better purchase if you could find and afford one.

There is a photo of the ruby one in Angolia's "Fur Fuhrer and Fatherland".

                  What?

What is Angolia's whatcha call it? I was hoping to find a website that had a picture on it. Yes, the oakleaves version is rare, but wow, to get one though...cool. I need some images of some award documents, do you know where I could find some for the Blood Order and German Order? I print them out from the net and put them in a notebook I keep. Thanks and sure, go for the one you got there.

... It looks like THIS badge "8187" is pictured in Detlev Niemann's price guide-2, page 331,
... maybe rzm raised, maybe just flush on a picture.

                    Any thoughts...
