        Hi Torsten

Well post 2 says it all really not sure if there is anything i could add to that.... but i`ll give it a bash.

As you will know, it was for a football/soccer game between CH-DE, period photos of this can be found on the net. I just sold a mint condition one for $200.- the other week, one is on line now at MILI321 (broken) for €120.- and there is also another in good condition on MILITARIA COMPANY for €999.-

You will see at least 1-2 examples of this badge for sale each year around the net. Obviously being Swiss, and a small badge collector, it appeals to me, not so much though that i would pay €999.- for one. There are no known fakes of this badge - at the moment.

Hi Jo, I agree $200 should be about the right price for a good condition one. I did not know that it was to commemorate a football match. I thought that it would have been for some kind of meeting or similar. Thank you for the info. Cheers, Torsten.

Sorry to bring this to the surface but I cannot find any reference to any football game on that date.

The date itself is the day the German people voted to appoint Hitler as Führer and Reichskanzler. Would they have held a big game on the same day?

Sorry to be a downer but they are wearing athlectics kit and not football kit. Also the caption makes not comment regrading football.

This is the Germany football team kit when they played Austria during the World Cup in 1934

Yes you are right, I am confused. So what is it then? It isnt for a football game.

David, a Länderspiel would be the correct term if it was just one game between DE-CH, or even that could be called a Länderkampf if there were more "events" than just the one game.
I honesty cant remember where the "football" part comes from. I know i was discussing these with a few collectors on a forum back in 2007-8, and thats probably where 2 and 2 were added and 5 was reached
Apart from the 19. August 1934 image of the athletes coming out into the arena (linked already) i wouldn't have a clue. Its not a "länderkampf" that much is known about, well at least not on a brief net check.
You`d have to go into the sports side of research to clear it up.

Although the badge doesn't say Länderkampf, thats what it was for. How many "disciplines" there were on this day. i wouldn't know.

I get you, I was focusing on the football side of things. I will have a look on the net and see what I can find.

I still find it a bit odd that they would hold an event the same day as an important vote, maybe a polling station was at the stadium.
