    Bronze Gau Thuringen Ehrenzeichen Numbers

I am trying to compile known numbers for the bronze Gau Thuringen Award. If you can add to the list please do so.
    So far I came across:
    222
    433
    700
    704
    817
    977
    982
    1170
    1176
    1179
    1216
    1231

Thanks in advance for your help.

    cheers
    Matt

I still would like to know what the purpose of the bronze badge was from a period source.

Wasn't there an issue with the 222 number appearing on more than one badge?

Ditto. There has never been anything of the period that described, alluded to or even mentioned this badge. In the past we have been quick to condemn badges lacking the period documentation this badge has as fake, however this badge seems to have taken on a life of its own and many believe it is real, though no one has ever been able to prove its intended purpose.

Yes, the silver 222 (or one of them) and gold 22, Only one bronze 222 surfaced so far and IMO nothing wrong with that one.

That's because it is real. And because it was an honor award in the bronze grade.
Unless you believe all of the accepted originals are fakes- it is easy to prove both grades came from the same die/stamp. They share the same characteristics, same dimensions and furthermore a few of them were found by the vets including the lot pictured below in their original packets. Of note is the writing on the envelopes- EHRENZEICHEN (BRONZE).
Don't get too hang up on the Organisationsbuch or go believing if it's not there it can not exist. And vice versa.

Would yours be one of the packeted ones as well? If not, does it show signs of wear?
                thanks for your help,

But then what was the purpose? There are no records or information that these were ever awarded. Perhaps an award that was produced but never given out? Who would have received these and for what? Being numbered would indicate specific awards for specific individuals.

True, but there is no record or information that the so called Bronze Gau Ost Hannover was ever awarded either. Same with the silver grade.
I believe Bronze Thuringen Ehrenzeichen was in existence since the inception of this award (1933). As for the numbers- I believe there is some connection between those and the grade of the award. It would be easier if we could establish which bronze awards came from the same source. I was under impression that most were found together but which numbers were part of the stash?
                    cheers

if we can get more bronze pin numbers it should be clear

Essentially what we have is a list that goes in number range from 1 to 1000. But contains only (or around) 960 entries.
                      That leaves out 40 names/numbers.
On the other hand we have bronze grade pins.
Now- if we take out the ones that I think (based on the proximity of numbers) were found together and appear to be unissued (left over stock) we are left with around 6-7 pins found to date.
Here is the kicker- out of those 6-7 numbers only 2 are listed on the original 1933 list!
Which means that MOST of the missing award numbers are the same as found on bronze pins.
Makes sense. After all it is a list of SILBERNE Gauadlers.
                      Ideas??

                      cheers

The difference here is the Ost Hannover, while no documentation exists of their awarding, are clearly mentioned in the Organisationsbuch of the NSDAP. So there is period documentation of their existence. The bronze Thüringen doesn't have that benefit as it is not mentioned anywhere nor appears anywhere in period publication. It exists, but never is documented in any way.
