This is not a fantasy item, I found this in the book Metallic Portrates of Adolf Hitler by R.W. Colbert & William D. Hyder. The crosshatching is from my scanner.

Many thanks for providing the reference, James. This seems a rather large piece and was perhaps struck as a medallion...though if the reverse is blank, that would seem a waste of dedication/commemoration space unless the piece was intended to be hand-engraved for each occasion...which would be quite expensive. Hopefully, when Gary provides a photo of the reverse of his piece, we may have further details to comment upon.
