thought i might share with the forum my 1936 summer olympic bronze medal and corresponding diploma (award document) and participation medal. the diploma is for a member of the bronze medal winning german 8 man rowing team. the USA finished first, followed by the team from Italy. the winners medal is made by B.H. MEYER ,of Pfhorziem, as were all the winners medals for berlin. the cases the medals came in for the bronze ,silver ,and gold medals were made my the firm h.j. wilm. i wish i had the case for the bronze medal ,but they are quite scarce. the diplomas seem to be even rarer than the actual medals. the participaton medal and case are fairly often seen and there were several manufactures of that medal and they can be seen in various finishes from dark brown to a golden color, again depending on who made it. enjoy the pics.

1936 Olympic medal and diploma
Just for reference, in June ,a cased silver medal from Berlin sold at auction
for $ 8,500.00. A bronze 36 medal went for $ 6,500.00 uncased.
The diplomas for the gold, silver,or bronze medal winners range from $ 1,500-- $ 4,000 depending on the event and place.
Participation medals usually range from $ 200-- $ 400 depending on condition and maker.
If anyone else would like to show their Berlin diplomas or medals, feel free to add to the thread, thanks for looking.
