      wartheland

You got me excited for a second there...
The pin you posted was given out to those unfortunate souls who decided to sign the volksliste after 1941 in Gau Wartheland so technically it is a Gau Warthe Badge- I was just thinking different badge...
Anyways- It's a permanent fixture on most of Polish online auctions- allegro.pl being probably the most well known. One found at the moment but not overly rare piece to come across.
While we're on the subject- does anyone know what was the significance of the blue enamel on Wartheland decorations? It seem to be a repeating trend- volksliste pins, Gau Ehrenzeichen, various stickpins, etc..
      cheers
      Matt

          heh, yeah

My old age must be getting to me- the one I was thinking of (the auction that is) ended. There is one here: http://allegro.pl/odznaka-wartheland-i3625939563.html
Looks ground found as do a good percentage of those. Guess it was not very popular to be Ethnic German after the war in Poland.
Apparently someone was fortunate enough to find literally a bucket full of those few years back metal detecting with most showing mileage but few in good condition as well.
If you need some translation in your transactions you can always hit me up as well.
          Good luck!
          cheers
          Matt

Matthew, I´ve got an "Ausweis der Deutschen Volkliste" dated 18 März 1942. I also have the "Ausweis das Abzeichen für Volkdetsche" for the same person, however that one is dated 16 Feb. 1940

              cheers

Nice! Any chance of showing it? It would be a first for me. I could've sworn I read somewhere the pins were awarded shortly after the actual Volksliste was passed in 1941. Is it from Wartheland?
                cheers

It would seem that Wirsitz was part of West Preussen, not Wartheland but that of course does not change anything. Either way- my addy is matt@cejuncker.com if you want to shot the scans of the docs.
                    Thanks again!
