    Identify this badge.....help!

Gentlemen, I have had this since my father's uncle gave it to me, with a box of medals and odds and ends left over from what he brought back from the war. It is aluminum, with no markings.
    Any thoughts? Thanks,
    Mike

Yes, listed as "German".....was also sold by "Delta Iternational" before that.... as "unkown shoulder bd. device".... however, is 100% Finnish. I have seen "supposedly" original WW 2 German officers shldr. boards with these devices added.... "supposedly worn by Germans serving w/Finns"...(very doubtful IMO) in "Manions, etc. over the years... but the devices are Finnish Army "Branch" insignia (unknown at the moment!)(can't find my ref. - these have come up here before).

          WOW...whodaknown!!

Thanks to you all. Wow, I had that catalog when I was in middle school, after getting the badges from my great-uncle. Memories indeed! I remember all the crazy stuff, which was mostly repros...I bought a Inf Assuzlt badge (lead!), and a belt and SS buckle...more junk. The buckle was not unlike the belt/aluminum buckle set sold by M_________. The catch pops right off when you put it on. ON closer examination I found it it is glued to the buckle, not cast as part of the whole. They still sell it, but set me a steel buckle as recompense. Nice of them.
I remember a page in that catalog that promoted a M43 cap, as Rommel's Afrika Korps cap, or something like that. Line drawings showed how it could be worn..."three different ways" (normal, flap down on neck, and full down under chin)....great imaginative classic 60s-70s advertising!
The Finish designation would be nice to know.

This begs an interesting question: my father's uncle was a medic, 1st with the 101, to go in with gliders, but his group was pulled and went in with the 7th(wave on the beaches). Always thought that an odd story, but doing a display for the 101st Assn in Clearwater, Fl in 1984, I got a copy of the official divisional history "Rendezvous With Destiny", and there it was...it did happen. He was like Radar O'Reilly of *MASH*...but instead of sending a Jeep home in parts, he sent everything he could strip off the enemy. Interesting that he could find this iamongst the PWs and houses he obviously rummaged through in NW Europe!
I saw a picture of my Grandfather's barber shop window, in Manchester, NH, festooned with MGs, ammo belts, grenades, badges, books....like a Manions catalog cover. When I got to meet him (wiry little guy...enlisted at age 42 in 1942...worked as a security guard into the late 1980s, and passed in 97), in the summer of 72, all he had left was a FJ helmet, some cigarette books, zeltbahn, and a WH officers dagger. The mentioned box of medals came some months later and was a great surprise. And here it is.
          Thanks again
          Michael
