    Appears to be for a musicians hat , as for period , I have no idea ;could be post war. Of course there was a baldur von shirach (spelled wrong) hj leader, and I found this interesting music regulation from an ss man named baldur...regardless check out these SS music rules and regulations (weird)http://www.shellac.org/wams/wnazi02.html
    That is still a cool item...the guy writing the book on german musical instruments will get a kick out of your item posted.
