I got this badge and would like to get your opinion. Seems it's make from aluminum (very light)

Hi,

This is unfortunately a fake, avoid all those HJ badges with seperate backplate.

These HJ badges are a minefield with very much fakes. I would strongly advice everyone to read up on how to recognize originals and even more so: what kind of fakes exists before making a purchase.

You sure Gaston? Looks like a cupal original to me. BUT it has had the copper facing (and part of the reverse) stripped off. Still, do not buy it.

Cupal, two metals mechanically bonded. THEN, a badge or award is stamped out of the metal, i.e.the cupal, the already bonded two metals.

Cupal is not, two separate metals, stamped out in badge/award form, THEN stuck together - and not even stuck together correctly.

Whatever these 2 piece badges are pretending to be, it is not cupal.
Take a mid war cupal badge/award, and try to separate the two metals with your bare hands like you can do here / like in fact, has already been done to the top of this badge.

A typical fake (fantasy-S-marked) leistungsabzeichen. Looks as fake as it`s M1/101 counterpart is. Be careful when handling it, the jagged edges will slice your little fingers down to the bone and beyond!
