Hi All,
Have tried to remove the verdigis from this piece by using my "safe method"
(soaking in olive oil). It's still there...........
Any ideas?

Verdigris is the result of a permanent chemical change, the equivalent of the rusting of steel and attempts to remove it will leave a depression in the metal, scratches, or a shiny spot. You'll want to verify this, but my recollection is that stabilization can be done with judicious application of ammonia or acetone. Then the piece should be kept away from moisture. which promotes copper/bronze oxidation.

The plaque(tte?) is fantastic. This has to be a unique/singular use of the U.S. and German flags together!
