How heavy is the medal? If it is heavy for the size then you are dealing with bronze, if it is light for the size then you are probably dealing with Spelter or some other form of white metal. I do not believe that Tombak was made at the time the crosses were made. If you could take a couple of edge shots and some closer views that would help but based on what I see it looks good.

      Cheers
      Gary

mmmh... The crown, the rivets and the maker mark look different to the one pictured in DNs new catalogue.

Can you post a closeup of the mm?

          all the best,
          Gerd

looks good, only a few were awarded and I think that you couldnt order any replacements. Hülse berlin is the only known maker, unmarked also seems to exist.
I have seen the crowns with holes and without holes.
have some pics to post if you want, I have had 5 or so.
If you are selling, please tell me.

Here's one I have. Don't know if it is authentic, but it is very well made.

Yeah, it's interesting and nicely made, but if you look closely there are some problems. Look at the center joins of the lower arms of the cross at 3,6, and 9 o'clock.

                    They are uneven!
