    Kreisieger Badge?

    Hi Everybody,
Does anyone know what a Kreisieger Badge was issued, given for? It looks like some sort of Hitler Jungen award of some kind. Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Stevo,

they were given for the winners of a work competition. Each professiond had its own competition. They were given in three levels: bronze Kreissieger (County level), silver Gausieger (state level) and gold Reichssieger (national level).

    Hope this helps...

    all the best,
    Gerd

In US equivalents it would be more like county, state and National.

Here's a little more information on this subject from Angolia's book, From 1934 to 1938 eligibility for the competition was very restricted. a. Male laborers 15-18 years old, b. Male commercial and technical apprentices 15-21 years old, c. Females 15-21 years old, d. Students attending trade schools or commercial collages regardless of age. All entrants had to belong to a Nazi-affiliated org. The three components of the initial tests were, a. Skill in the tested trade, b. Political theory, c. Mathematics and Composition. At this time only one badge was awarded for each competition, and the winner was declared the National Victor (Reichssieger.) After 1938 there were some changes made, the age and party membership requirements were lifted. And the winners at the Kreis and Gau levels were recognized with their own badges.
