    Tinnie SS schütze

    Hello everyone
I would like to know your views on this tinnie and if anyone knows their history.
All the information will be welcome.

I have always considered this tinnie a be fantasy piece. The combination of the DRL eagle and the SS rank of "Schutze" doesn't make any sense. Unless it's meant to be schutze in the sense of a shooting combination under the DRL with the SS. This seems a bit of a stretch to me, to me though because of using a term that is specific to a rank within the SS rank system rather than something more specific to a shooting competition.

I will say this though, it is fairly well executed is quite convincing. I have seen others with a very spurious little "RZM" stamped into the back, but this one doesn't have that.

It's interesting, but I have my reservations.

        SS Schutze Tinnie

Quoting from pages 55-56 of "Collector's Guide No. 2 Tinnies of the Third Reich" published by Manions in 1979 "Completely reproduction badge currently being sold as real. Badge comes in color patterns of brass-bronze-silver and with hollow or solid back. Produced in Holland, it is a recent import and has no intrinsic value unless one values reproductions as reference works. No known pattern. Value: Worthless as a Reproduction."

I agree and feel it may well be the first fantasy or reproduction tinnie. Nuff said.

I understand what it is now. That is the Olympic flame in the background of the pin. These pins were supposedly produced for SS Guards stationed at the Olympic games in 1936. Not party related, so no need for the RZM.
The rascals that made these up decades ago (hard to conceive but true) really put some time into them.

I remember these well as they were popping up at all the shows and markets in the early 70's.

I remember this when even I was a boy .....
They were in a solid state then.
Obviously this has been taken one step further.
But still just a piece of tin
                Regards

Well if it is a piece of fantasy, truth does not understand very well, that they had not done a mixture more credible and interesting that sports + SS
