    S. A. Brigade 35 - Leipzig 1935

    SA Brigade 35 - Leipzig 1935.

A relatively common event (pack march) badge, although nevertheless and in my opinion, quite striking by the overall "unity" design.

    Regards,

    David

      It's a nice design.

Is the third person representitive of 'The Worker'?
      He looks injured!

      Cheers,
      Chris.

Nice Piece David - I must say, the SA Tinnie's seem to command a higher price than your run of the mill tinnie. Thanks for showing

It's a beauty. Look at the faces of the three men--each is different than the others, and the expression and concentration portrayed on the face of each man as captured by the sculptor are amazing for a badge of this size.

                  Thankyou for the comments chaps.

I am assuming that the design featuring the three fellows shoulder to shoulder and marching in unity is highly symbolic and a reoccurring theme as to how rightly or wrongly, the SA dignified themselves and how they wished others to regard them.

The heroic "Kampfzeit" street fighters, evolving into the political brown shirts, evolving into a national armed force.

This badge appears to have been commissioned by SA Brigade 35 (Leipzig) (SA Gruppe Sachsen) for their participation in a second national event. There is indeed a commemorative badge by the same SA Brigade for the third and same national event and both events would appear to have taken place in late April.

I must admit that I have never seen an event badge commemorating SA Brigade 35 taking part in the first, fourth or subsequent Deutsche Gepäckmarsch Meisterschaft.

                  Regards,

                  David

                      Dear Matt

Many thanks for highlighting the 1934 event badge, however I do not think that it forms part of the set, i.e. number 1. I may be wrong. It was my impression that the 1935 and 1936 badges are in relation to a national championship. The 1934 badge instead, is in relation to a local event.

                      Regards,

                      David

p.s. - Dear Soldon, how right you are. The SA-Tagungsabzeichen is now highly sought after and some command extremely high prices which are readily accepted!
