    Tinnies galore… HELP !!!

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    Hello All,

On the Belgian cobblestones are 801 Tinnies I acquired last weekend as part of a larger collection of medals ect…. As this is totally new for me, I am looking for books on the subject. (Identification and eventually a guideline for values) If these books exist, can I buy them at the MAX?

    Thank you,

    Marc

You want Manions books Volumes 1 - 4. Also Reinhard Tiestes has done a couple of books.

    Cheers

Marc, why don't you give me one of those and just make it an even 800?

Won't make that show Marc but I'll keep checking in here hoping you offer some of those to forum members on the e-stand. Good luck at the show!

              Hi Marc,

I think the best tinnie references are Tieste's books as mentioned above. They're 30 and 31 on his literature page http://www.tieste.de/literatur/fachliteratur.htm

I've seen them at German shows but never tried to find them at any US shows.

              Regards,
              Greg

Thank you guy very much for the above mentioned references on books on the subject. I will see if I can find them in the US befor the MAX
As far as offering the items for sale…. I would like to; but have not the slightest idea of the value of them.

You can find it in Reinhard Tieste's book, from the picture you provided it looks like you really hit a mother load of tinnies.

                      Marc,
Spectacular find! Are there any SS tins in there?

Wow Marc! What a load of tinnies. It is hard to tell from the picture but it looks like you have some very nice and rare ones in this collection. The Manions books are good but sometimes hard to find as they are out of print. The tinnie you posted looks good. Can't wait for you to offer some of these for sale!

The Manions books are still available from their website, I bought the full set only a couple of weeks back.

                          Cheers

That's great news Don. I wasn't aware of that. I believe they must have started reprinting them as the first issue I have was from their old Foxhole days. It took me forever about 10 years ago to find the first 2 issues.

Thank you very much for the help. I will order the books and bring the Tinnies to the MAX show, even if it is only to ask some of you for advice.
