    S.A. Ski-Meisterschaft München-Oberbayern

Here is an SA event badge towards which I think supports the strong affirmation that on occasions, these little gems are really miniature masterpieces.

Ski-Meisterschaft for SA Brigade 85 (SA Gruppe Hochland, München-Oberbayern [OBB]) over the presumably Christmas/New Year period of the end of 1933 and the start of 1934.

I think that the quality of this little chap is superb and a "good" maker favoured by this SA Gruppe in the guise of Klotz u Kienast of München.

    Regards,

    David

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

I agree, miniature masterpieces, and your example here drives it all home. beautiful badge. the oxidation of the laquer finish gives this near mint piece a nice subdued petina. a gem!......thanks for posting.

Thankyou for the kind words chaps and yes, a favourite of mine.

There is however an error that I have made in attributing the maker to Klotz und Kienast of München. This is quite wrong. Anton Klotz and Eugen Kienast were the designers of this badge (and other badges and other items) and not the manufacturers.

              My apologies.

Here are images of an event badge manufactured by L. Christian Lauer, Nürnberg (RZM M9/3) and yet again, bearing the "signature of "Messrs. Klotz and Kienast.

              Regards,

              David

David - Here's one I have, think it may have some connection with your first badge - small enamelled NSKK - Motorbrigade Hochland Wintersportskämpf 1937 badge, same maker. Now and again I do a trawl of the military sites, hoping to turn up another like this one, until now without any sucess. I wonder, have you or members come across a similar badge.
