The symbol is for the KDF, Kraft Durch Freude (strength through joy). This is the Gau Munich, Oberbayern tinnie or event badge.

I don't know anything about tinnies, is it common? I wasn't able to come up with anything when I tried to do a search on it. Something about the design of it I really like.

I did find it in one Reinhard Tieste's books on tinnies but with no more information that hasn't already been stated by Don. The only other thing I could add is the KdF was a branch of DAF who's main purposes was helping workers in vacation and day trips. This one is a trip badge to Upper Bavaria. Is there any mm or name on the reverse? If so could you provide a picture.
